  SAUDER, Erma (Mrs. Vernon) - Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, following a brief and courageous battle with cancer, on Friday, September 9, 2005, at her residence, Erma (Gingrich) Sauder, in her 77th year, of Elmira. Beloved wife of Vernon for over 55 years. Loving and devoted mother of Brenda and Gary Leis, Brian and Wendy Sauder, Mary Lou and Randy Wagler, all of Wellesley. Erma was the loving and dedicated grandmother of Shauna (Kirk Bergey) Leis, Nathan (Jill) Steckley Leis, Brandon (Bethany) Leis, Jonathan Sauder, Shane Hallman, Melissa (Todd) Metzger, Trent (Kerry) Wagler and Jared Wagler. "Pretzel Grandma" will be sadly missed by her great-granddaughter, Abbie Steckley Leis. Dear sister of Minerva Martin of St. Jacobs and Leona and Hugh Thomson of Elmira and sister-in-law of Lewis and Mabel Sauder of St. Jacobs, Clayton and Naomi Sauder of Monetville, Earl and Lynne Feick of St. Jacobs. Special aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Elam and Sarah Gingrich; two sisters-in-law, Erma M. Sauder, Lena Feick and two brothers-in-law, Emil Martin and Leonard Shantz and one nephew, Gerry Sauder. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, this evening (Saturday) 7-9 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At noon on Monday, September 12, transfer will be made to the Elmira Mennonite Church for funeral service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ruth Anne Laverty and Pastor Steven Janzen officiating followed by interment in Elmira Mennonite Cemetery.
