  On Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Roy Klein, age 86 years, of Elmira. Beloved husband of Bernice (Ziolkowski) Klein for 59 years. Dear father of Roy Klein (Anne) of Elmira, Vonda and Terry Dinelle of Kitchener. Devoted grandfather of Roy Adam Klein (Robin), Danielle Klein and his great-grandchildren, Riley and Makayla Klein. Brother of Donald and Doris, Stanley and Rita, all of Elmira, and Dorothy Fewkes of New Hamburg. Roy is lovingly remembered by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and by his many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Klein; his daughter, Valerie (1961); brother, George and sisters, Della Swartz, Edna Haffner and Dora Westfal. Roy served overseas from 1941-1945 with the Highland Light Infantry and was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 469, Elmira. At Roy's request cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation to celebrate Roy's life will be held at the Dreisinger Funeral Home , Elmira, on Friday, October 16, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Teresa of Avila RC Church, Flamingo Drive, Elmira on Saturday, October 17 at 11 a.m. followed by interment of cremated remains in St. Teresa's RC Cemetery, RR 1 Elmira. Parish prayers will be offered at the funeral home on Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 469, Elmira will assemble for a memorial service at the funeral home on Friday evening at 6: 45 p.m. In his memory donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 469, Elmira Poppy Fund would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
