- ELEANOR PAULINE DEDELS 1927 - 2008 Passed away peacefully in her sleep, to be with her heavenly Father, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener, on Wednesday, December 24, 2008. Beloved wife of Edward for 41 years. Cherished sister of Henry (Nelma) Merlau, Ruth Fuhr, and Hilda (Harold) Shiry. Dear sister-in-law of Erma Cressman, Thelma (Elton) Randall, Irene Weber, Doris Stevanus, and Ruth Shantz. Eleanor will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Wilhelm and Henrietta Merlau; and brothers-in-law, Lorne Fuhr, Fred Cressman, Robert Weber, Myron Stevanus, and Vernon Shantz. Friends are invited to share their memories of Eleanor with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St S., Waterloo, on Monday, December 29, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 30 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. A reception will follow. Interment at Breslau Mennonite Cemetery will take place at a later date. Condolences for the family and donations to the Mennonite Central Committee, Benton Street Baptist Church, or Breslau Evangelical Missionary Church may be arranged through the funeral home, 519-745-8445 or www.erbgood.com. In living memory of Eleanor, a donation will be made to the Trees for Learning Program by the funeral home.
