Notes - On Thursday, Feb. 3, 1977, at St. Mary's Hospital, as a result of a heart attack, age 76 years, August Gostel of 188 Benton St., Kitchener. A member of St. Joseph's RC Church, one of the founding members of the Alpine Club, and a retired employee of Apex Metals (Kitchener) Ltd. Son of the late Joseph Gostel and Maria Kump. Husband of the former Anna Speitzer; father of Albert of Route 1, Waterloo, Rudolph of Route 3, Waterloo, August of the Yukon, Joseph, Mrs. Frieda Eichel and Emma (Mr. Alfred Holl), all of Kitchener, Bertha (Mrs. Arthur Bayer) of California and Trudy (Mrs. Ferdinand Staab) of Petersburg; also survived by 13 grandchildren. Predeceased by three brothers and two sisters. Visitation at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home, 51 Benton St., Kitchener, after noon on Friday. Parish rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Prayers will be offered on Saturday at 9: 30 a.m. followed by funeral mass at St. Mary's RC Church at 10 a.m. Rev. Wolfgang Weiss officiating. Interment to follow in Woodland cemetery. Donations to the Ontario Heart Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
