  Chalmers, Alexander WELLESLEY Feb. 5. - Alexander Chalmers, 78 of Wellesley, died suddenly, at Topping, on Saturday, while waiting for his nephew to take him to visit his brother, at the Stratford Hospital. He was born in Mornington Twp., on Jan. 28, 1867. His parents were the late John Chalmers and Margaret Fleming. He was a member of the United Church in Wellesley. Surviving are his wife Jennie Hostettler, one son Alec of Bronte; four brothers, William of Mornington, David of Wellelsey, John of Fergus and P. H. Chalmers of Toronto. Funeral service will be held at 2: 30 p.m., Tuesday afternoon, at his late residence, with burial in Rushes Cemetery. Rev. David Forsyth of Waterloo will officiate. The remains are resting at the home. Kitchener Daily Record 5 Feb 1945 pg 11 _______________ Dies Suddenly at Roadside Awaiting Ride Striken Saturday afternoon while waiting on the roadside at Topping for a motorist to take him on a visit to his brother, William, who is a patient in Stratford General Hospital, Alexander Chalmers, of Wellesley, toppled over and died instantly. Born in Mornington Township 78 years ago, son of the late John Chalmers and Margaret Fleming, the late Alexander Chalmers for a number of years farmed near Millbank before retiring to Wellesley. He was a member of the Wellesley United Church. His wife, Jennie Hostetler, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hostetler, survives him, besides one son, Alexander Jr., of Bronte, and four brothers. Funeral services were held at his late residence in Wellesley on Tuesday Afternoon at 2.30 o'clock, with internment following in the Rush Cemetery. Rev. D. Forsythe of Waterloo officiated.
