  John Brower,"a distant relative of Henry Brower who had settled at Preston, Ontario, in the year 1822, was born in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, August 10th, 1803, and came to this country when a young man. He was a builder and contractor, and assisted in putting up many of our old bank barns of the northern part of the township of Waterloo. In October, 1829, he was married to Catharine, daughter of Henry H., and Magdalena (Clemens) Clemmer. She was born January 25th, 1812. After their marriage they moved to old Jacob Kolb's who then resided on the farm now owned by Joseph Kolb, near Breslau, where they resided until the following spring when they moved on their farm, now owned by Jacob Z. Kolb. After residing here for quite a few years, they sold this place and moved to near Centreville where they resided until his death (His death was caused by a limb of a tree falling on his head while engaged in making maple sugar.) which took place March 22nd, 1859. Some time after his death the widow went to Michigan and had her home with her son, Isaac, who resides at Harbor Springs, Michigan, when she died in 1885. Their family consisted of eleven children" Eby, Ezra E. (1895).
