- MARTIN, Melissa Melissa Martin, 103, of Tavistock passed away in the Maples Home for Seniors, Tavistock on Sunday, November 16, 2014. She was born in Woolwich Township, Waterloo County on February 25, 1911, a daughter of the late Benjamin and Anna (Diefenbacher) Brubacher. She married John M. Martin on May 8, 1932 and was a faithful support to John during his Seventy plus years of ministry. John died on May 3, 2011. Melissa is survived by five children, Ruth Martin of St. Agatha, Doris and husband Lorne Clarke of Oakville, Timothy and wife Shelley Martin of Burlington, Eleanor and husband Garry Jenkins of Tavistock, Murray and wife Ruth Martin of Wilton, Conn., U.S.A., daughters-in-law, Laura Martin of Renfrew, Mary Martin of Aurora; twenty-two grandchildren; forty-eight great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sons, Ernie Martin (October 2004), Neil Martin (March 2004); three sisters and brothers-in-law, Emma and Noah Martin, Ada and Ezra Frey, Viola and Samuel Martin and by all her "Martin" brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Relatives and friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home , 17 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The graveside committal service will be held at Hawkesville Cemetery on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. A memorial service will be held in Tavistock Mennonite Church on Saturday at 2 p.m. with a reception following. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Everyday Publications or the Conestoga Bible Camp would be appreciated and may he made through the Francis Funeral Home by calling 1-519-655-2431.
