  Eliza Snyder, "was born March 6th, 1852. On December 26th, 1872, she was married to Samuel James Thomas, a moulder. They reside in Ayr, Ontario." Eby, Ezra E. (1895). A biographical history of Waterloo township and other townships of the county: being a history of the early settlers and their descendants, mostly all of Pennsylvania Dutch origin: as also much other unpublished historical information chiefly of a local character. Berlin [Kitchener, Ont.]: [s.n.]. ________________________ Demise of Mrs. Thomas - a long-time resident of Ayr in the person of Mrs. Samuel J. Thomas passed away Sunday night or early Monday morning. She had been ailing from heart trouble for some time, but was feeling better Sunday night. In the morning it was found that the vital spark had fled its tenement of clay during the still hours of the night. Mrs. Thomas, whose maiden name was Eliza Snyder, was in her 66th year. She was born in Blenheim, near Plattsville, and had spent practically all her life in this vicinity. She married in 1871 and was predeceased by her husband some six years. A son, Geo. H. Thomas of Detroit, survives. The deceased also has two brothers and three sisters residing in Manitoba. Mrs. Thomas was a Methodist and an active member of the local church, taking a prominent part in everything pertaining to the welfare of that body. The funeral took place yesterday from her late residence, St. Andrews Ave., the services being conducted by Rev. Mr. Hiscock ? the pallbearers were Messrs. C? George, John Anderson, A. Anderson, C.
