- ROBERT LEGGETT 1930-1996
Robert Lambton Leggett arrived in Blair in 1955 to open the Blair Machine and Welding shop. While he filled a valuable role as Blair's Mr. Fixit, Mr. Leggett is best remembered as Blair's unofficial historian. The history of his adopted community and its buildings became Mr. Leggett's passion. Through research of land documents and discussions with the town's people, Mr. Leggett documented the histories of each of the town's properties, points of interest and influential people and families. Mr. Leggett left Blair in 1988 to settle in Richmond, British Columbia. He died there on May 5, 1996 and is buried at the Blair Cemetery.
