    • WIDEMAN (St. Jacobs, Ont.) Dec. 31 - Mrs. John Wideman, wife of the postmaster and township clerk here, died very suddenly last night. She was attending a prayer meeting at the Church of the Evangelical association, when she suddenly gasped for breath and died before she could be removed from the church.

      In Memoriam In memory of Margaret Winkler, wife of John L. Wideman, who died suddenly at St. Jacobs, Ont., Wednesday Eve'g, Dec. 30th, 1896, Aged 67 Years, 9 Months and 1 Day. Interred in the Evangelical Cemetery, St. Jacobs, on Saturday, Jan. 2nd, 1897. Services at the house by Rev. D. Dippel, Elmira. Burial by Rev. A.Y. Haist, pastor, St. Jacobs. Funeral Services: German Sermon by Rev. Jos. Umbach, New Hamburg. Text, Rom.14:7-8. English Sermon by the Pastor, Rev. A.Y. Haist. Text. Proverbs 22:28. "Her End was Peace."
