  OBERER, Russell Henry - Passed away peacefully, at KW Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, on Monday, September 7, 2009 in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Myrtle (nee Schiedel) Oberer for 65 years. Loving father of Elizabeth Koenig of Waterloo, Calvin Oberer (Mia) of Cambridge and Cameron Oberer (Sandy Westinghouse) of Calgary. Cherished Papa of Neil, Shawn, Russell Jr., Caroline and Andrea. Adored Great- Papa of Katie and Dougan. Survived by his brothers-in-law, Howard and Raymond Schiedel; and his sister-inlaw, Ruth Bauman and her husband Howard. Predeceased by his parents, Margaret and William Oberer; son-in- law, Ken Koenig; brothers, Harlon and Howard Oberer; and by his sisters- in-law, Helen and Bernice Schiedel. Russell worked at Dettmer Tire in Kitchener for 23 years. Russell's family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-748-8467, on Thursday, September, 10 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service to celebrate Russell's life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 11 a.m. Reception to immediately follow the funeral service. Private interment at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Breslau. Memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated (cards available at the funeral home).
