    • DUENCH, Lydia Peacefully. at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital. after a lingering illness, on Monday, Sept. 4. 2000. She was in her 82nd year and was a resident of Waterloo.

      She was the beloved wife of Alvin whom she was married to for sixty years; dear mother of William and his wife Maureen of Windsor. Marie and her husband Denis Morneau of Kitchener, Margaret and her husband William Fetter of Lenexa, Kansas and Donald and his fiancee Ruth Demirdjian of Toronto. She also is lovingly remembered by her grandchildren. Lee Ann. Patrick. Chris. Kerry, Melissa, Tara, Shannon. Nicole, Kathleen land Jaimie Duench. Rosemarie and Terry Morneau. Alison. Corinne and Tim Fetter; great- granddaughter. Daniela Duench and her sister. Edna Bogusat of Virgil. She was predeceased by her parents. Henrietta Einwechter and William Goettling and three brothers. Lloyd, Harry and Nelson Goettling.

      For the first three years of her mar riage. Lytha was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in New Dundee. where she was the organist. For the next fifty-eight years. she was a faithful and active member of St. John's Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church Women. She was a former member of the KW Philharmonic Choir. a member of the Waterloo County Quilter's Guild and a former member of the Waterloo Horticultural Society. She loved gardening and quilting.

      Mrs. Duench's family will receive friends at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo from 7-9 p.m. this evening and 2 and 79 p.m. Wednesday. The funeral service will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church in Waterloo on Thursday, Sept. 7. 2000 at 11:30a.m., with Rev. Doug Kranz, Rev. Stephen Weber and Rev. Joe Habibullah officiating. Immediately following the service. friends and relatives are invited to the parish hall of St. Johns Church for refreshments and a time to visit with the family. The committal service will be held at Union Cemetery In New Dundee at 3 p.m. Thursday.
