  Bernice Irene Huehn Febraruy 29, 1928 - February 4, 2019 HUEHN, Bernice Irene - Passed away peacefully at the Southampton Hospital, after a stroke, on Monday, February 4th, 2019 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Robert Huehn (2014) and mother of Marybeth (Rene Lavoie) and Susan (David Stacey). Adored "Little Grandma" to Eryn and Kate Stacey. Beloved sister to Marty (John Church) and Jean (Charles Beaton). Special friend of Brandy Palinsky. Predeceased by her parents Harry and Louisa Koehler, and her stepmother, Irene Koehler. Born on February 29th, 1928 in Heidelberg, Ontario, Bernice worked as a secretary and married Robert in 1954. They raised their family in Waterloo where they spent many happy years. Known to family members as "The Gentle One", Bernice loved being a wife and mother, knitting and sewing, and attending her church, Mount Zion Lutheran and later Faith Lutheran in Port Elgin, where she and Robert moved in 2013 to be closer to family. After Robert died, Bernice continued to live at Elgin Lodge where she met many dear friends. Interment Service will be held at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Heidelberg, Ontario, on Friday May 10th at 11:00 a.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 525 Ivings Drive, Port Elgin on Saturday May 11th, 2019 at 2:00 p.m., followed by a reception. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Faith Lutheran Church, Port Elgin. Arrangements entrusted to the EAGLESON FUNERAL HOME , Southampton.
