    • Robert Alexander Mewhiney - There passed away at her home on the town line of Peel and Wellesley early on Saturday morning, Feb. 6, Mr. Robert Mewhiney. He was in his usual health until Saturday morning when he suffered a heart seizure from which he never rallied. He had been around as usual the previous day and spent the evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Claire Beggs.

      Mr. Mewhiney was born at Dorking sixty-three years ago and has passed his whole lifetime in the vicinity. He was a Presbyterian in religion until the time of Union and since then has been identified with Knox United Church, Glenallan. For years he was a member of Wellesley L..L. 430 and Canadian Forrester's Court No. 70, Glenallan.

      Mr. Mewhiney was a son of the late Alexander and the late Mrs. Mewhiney. About 35 years ago he was married to Levina Gies, who, with a family of four sons and two daughters, survive, namely, Irvine of Jordon Station, Melvin and Aaron of the town line, Carl of Vineland, Vera (Mrs. Irvine Strucker), of Vineland, Cornelia (Mrs. Clare Beggs) of 18th line of Wellesley. One daughter, Evelyn (Mrs. Melvin Nurse) predeceased him in 1919. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Alex Adams of Preston and Mrs. Sam Henry, near Dorking, also one brother, Wesley, of near Listowel. He was predeceased by two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Calder and Mrs. Clem Bailey, also one brother John.

      The funeral which was largely attended was held last Monday from his late residence to Glenallan United Cemetery. The services at the house and graveside were conducted by the Rev. B. Eyre, BA. The following acted as casket bearers: William Nurse, George Beggs, Chris Tabbert, James Beggs, Andrew Hahn and Edward Cressman.

      The following floral tributes were received: Pillow, wife; wreath Mr. and Mrs. Carson, and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Mewhiney; wreath Mr. and Mrs. Irvine Mewhiney, Mr. Carl Mewhiney and Mrs. Irvine Strucker, spray, Mr. and Mrs. Clare Beggs; spray, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Peeble; spray, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Honsburger.
