Notes |
- BEAVER, JOHN REGINALD was born in Hespeler, was educated there and at Galt Collegiate, then graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto in the class of 1914. At the beginning of the First Great War he joined the Harvard University Medical Unit and served overseas for four years. After the war he located in Galt and became known as one of the leading surgeons of the area. He was popular professionally and built up a large practice, but later when he developed a chronic heart condition, he was forced to limit his practice. Apart from his profession, his chief interest was in the realm of sports, both as a supporter and as a part-icipant. He was a member of a number of clubs, interested in rugby, curling, golfing and fishing.
He died at Parry Sound while at his summer cottage, on September 15, 1950. He was survived by his wife, one daughter and one son.
