I Christopher Humble, formerly Shoemaker and Farmer in North Dumfries, now residing in the Village of Ayr….To my beloved wife Helen Humble I leave no legacy hoping that what she is allowed by laws of this province will be sufficient for her support for the term of her natural life: To my eldest daughter Mary Humble I bequeath the sum of one hundred and twenty five pounds. To my second daughter Margaret Humble I bequeath the sum of one hundred and twenty five pounds. What remains of my property [over?] the above legacys I bequeath to my three sons viz Christopher, John & George Humble to be equally divided & shared among them.
