- Abraham Devitt, "was born December 1st, 1841, and died May 5th, 1893. He was married to Mary Mann with whom he had three children, Clarence, Veria, and Harold. He was a graduate of Toronto University and was engaged as principal in our high schools for quite a number of years. He was book-keeper for The Shantz Button Manufacturing Company of Buffalo, New York, where he took sick and, after a few months illness, died with his brother, Benjamin, in the town of Waterloo."

Mr. Abram Devitt, who has been seriously ill at the home of his mother, Mrs. Benjamin Devitt, Waterloo, is sinking rapidly and may depart for the great unknown at any moment. His wife arrived last night from Renfrew.
A telephone message at 3: 30 this afternoon informs us of the death of Mr. Abram Devitt of Waterloo at 1: 45 p.m. to-day. He was 51 years, 5 months and 4 days old. He possessed the degree of M.A. and was formerly a High School teacher. Sometime ago he employed as a bookkeeper by Waterloo Manufacturing Co. He leaves a wife and three children to mourn his death. (Funeral on Monday, May 8)
