  Ephraim Cress, "was born June 9th, 1806. He was married to Susan McMahon who was born October 2nd, 1812, and died December 31st, 1869. They resided on the farm now owned by their son, Levi, when he died October 20th 1874. Their family consisted of seven children" Eby, Ezra E. (1895). A biographical history of Waterloo township and other townships of the county: being a history of the early settlers and their descendants, mostly all of Pennsylvania Dutch origin: as also much other unpublished historical information chiefly of a local character.
