  BARIL, Lionel J.-At St. Mary's Hospital, on Tuesday, July 21, 1992, following a courageous struggle with cancer, Lionel Baril of Kitchener, age 58 years. Mr. Baril was a member of Local No. 562 Sheet Metal Workers of Ontario and was a member of St. Anthony Daniel RC Church. He was a veteran and served with the 22nd Regiment, Paratroopers. He also competed in the 1956 Commonwealth Games. Beloved husband of Georgette (Wilkinson); loving father of Diane and her husband David Waddle, Mark and his wife Lynne, Denise and her fiancé Marco Seitz, all of Kitchener. Dear grandfather of Michael, Michelle and Stephanie. Son of Mrs. Agnes Baril of Quebec; brother of Rhea and her husband Isadore Deschamps, Gonzague and his wife Juliette, Valeda and her husband Phillas St. Pierre, Marcel and his wife Lucille, Real and his wife Georgianne, Paul and his wife Irene; brother-in-law of George Wilkinson and his wife Monique, Robert Wilkinson and his wife Carol, Albert and his wife Joan, Jeanne D'Arc Baril. Also survived by his mother-in-law, Mrs. Yvonne Tremblay, many other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Fidele and one brother, Conrad. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, today (Thursday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers will be offered at the funeral home on Friday at 11:15 a.m. followed by the funeral mass at St. Aloysius RC Church (due to the construction at St. Anthony Daniel) at 12 noon. Interment Woodland Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or VON, would be gratefully acknowledged.
