Omand Funeral Home New Hamburg until retiring in 1977 to Mount Hope St., Kitchener. A member of Zion United Church, New Hamburg; past grand master and district deputy of the Wilmot Masonic Lodge No. 318 AF and AM; affiliate member of the New Dominion Lodge No. 318, New Hamburg; member of the Guelph chapter Rose Croix 32nd Degree Mason Moore Sovereign Consistory; Kitchener Chapter 117 Royal Arch Masons; the Waterloo Shrine Club Mocha Temple; the Royal Order of Jesters Court No. 56, London Ont. Past-president of the Central Ontario Funeral Directors Association; a member of the Canadian Legion, Branch 532, New Hamburg. Served overseas during the Second World War with 10th General Hospital Medical Corps. Son of the late Robert Wilson Omand and Edith Hammond; husband of Josephine (Jo) nee McPhail; father of John, Elizabeth and Lawrence Cresswell, and Vivian and Brian Sutherland, all of Kitchener, Mrs Helen Dowsett and Grace (Mrs. Walter Abs), both of Kitchener, Kathleen (Mrs. Ron Tuchlinsky) of Waterloo and Marjorie (Mrs. Robert Fraser) of Dundas. Predeceased by one brother. Visitation at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home, 51 Benton St., Kitchener, after 2 p.m. today until 9 p.m. Friday. Transfer will be made to Zion United Church, New Hamburg for visitation 11 a.m. on Saturday until service time at 2 p.m., Rev. Charles Rennie officiating. Interment Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Burn Centre of the Shriners' Hospital would be appreciated. A masonic service under the auspices of the Wilmot Masonic Lodge will be held tonight at 7: 30 p.m. The Canadian Legion, branch 532, New Hamburg, will hold a memorial service at the funeral home on Friday at 7: 30 p.m.
