Obituary
The family of Edith Lauber(Krauskopf) sadly announces her death at St. Mary's Hospital, on October 31, 2011 at the age of 96. She was born in 1915 on a farm near Dublin, Ontario. She is survived by one sister, Cecilia Johnson of Kitchener.
Edith was predeceased by her husband, Harold (1977), her daughter, Linda (2005) and her son-in-law John Falsetto (1994). She is survived by her children, Jim (Phoebe) Lauber of Pickering, Donna (Bruce) St. John, Gene (Sue) Lauber and Bonnie Lauber (Alan Macnaughton),sister-in-law Marjorie Kraemer, all of Kitchener, Vikki (Frank) Kucy of Calgary and Alma Falsetto of Sault Ste. Marie. She was dearly loved by 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Edith lived on Louisa Street in Kitchener for 55 years. Most recently she has made her home at Trinity Village, where she received wonderful care and until recently was a keen participant in any and all events. Edith loved Bingo, card parties, trips to the casino and lottery tickets. And though she never won the big one she was overall a very lucky player. Her favourite trips were to Las Vegas \endash 7 times! She liked to crochet and knit and we are all proud recipients of one or more of her afghans.
Our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother worked hard in the food service industry. In particular, she and Harold ran the canteen in the old Kitchener City Hall in the 1960s. She loved her family and friends and was always up for a party. She liked to look good and was proud that she always looked younger than her age.
Edith will be missed by many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbours.
Edith was a member of Sacred Heart Church for 65 years. She attended faithfully for all the years that she was able. She was also a member of the CWL.
Sleep peacefully Mom. You have earned your rest.
