      "Our church history began around 1903, when Rev. R. Eltherington began a series of evangelistic meetings in Stouffville. It was decided to erect a new building and a lot was purchased for this purpose. The men performed most of the labour themselves, chopping down the timber that was needed and bricks came in by train. Dedication took place in November 1903 packed with people who arrived on horse and buggy"
