  SHANTZ, Mary Mary (Horst, Gingrich) Shantz, born November 7, 1913, beloved wife of Freeman S. Gingrich (1995) for sixteen years and Lorne M. Shantz from 1961-2000, passed away at the age of 102 on Friday, July 29, 2016. Loving daughter of Menno and Lovina Horst (1975). Dear mother of Dr. David and Judy Gingrich and Dr. Ron and Lois Gingrich (both deceased 2012), Raymond and Marion Gingrich and Kathleen Gingrich (2001), also loved mother of Esther Shantz, Clare and Eileen Bauman, Ken and Myrna Shantz, Roly and Fern Shantz, Yvonne and Clare Pomeroy and Fred and Debbie Shantz. Dear sister of Lena (2003), Mahlon Snider and David Frey, David (2006) and Elva Horst (2005), Barbara (2015) and Noah Horst (2001), Elam (2012) and Myrtle Horst (2016), Amon and Hilda Horst (2007), Martha (2011) and Roy Koch (deceased), Emma and Raymond Brubacher (1999), Melvin (2015) and Leeta Horst, and Verna (1998) and Roy Waters. Mary loved her large family which included many loved grand and great-grandchildren, as well as dear nieces and nephews. She loved "people" and had many cousins and friends and hopes to meet all of them again. There will be visitation in memory of Mary in the chapel at Fairview Mennonite Home, 515 Langs Drive, Cambridge which has been her dear home for many years, on Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 2-3 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 3 p.m. Reception to follow. Cremation has taken place. Interment in St. Jacobs Mennonite Cemetery. Condolences for the family and memorial donations to Fairview Mennonite Home or a charity of your choice may be made through the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home , 171 King St. S., Waterloo.
