Mrs. Isabella Duncan

PRESTON, May 2. Isabella Wallace, widow of Peter Duncan, well-known and highly-respected Preston resident for 25 years, died at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William Reed, Blair Road, Preston, Sunday afternoon, at the age of 91 years. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Mrs. Duncan came to Canada and Galt in 1905. She lived in Galt for 19 years. For the past 25 years, she made her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. William Reed. Her husband predeceased her 26 years ago. A member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Preston, Mrs. Duncan was formerly a member of the Women's Missionary Society of that church. Surviving are a son, David Duncan, Galt; seven daughters, Mrs. James Johnston, Miss Jean Duncan, Mrs. Harry Armstrong, Mrs. Earl Shaver and Mrs. William Adair, Galt, Mrs. Elizabeth Clare, Preston-Galt Highway and Mrs. William Reed, Preston. Fifteen grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, also survive. A daughter, Mrs. Alice Wiley, of Galt, predeceased her in 1929. The body is resting at the Stager-Pass Funeral Home, Preston, where the funeral will be held Tuesday, at 3 p.m. Interment will be in Young Memorial Chapel, Galt.
