  BARRETT, CHARLES On Saturday morning, August 13, 1938, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Guelph, a lifelong resident of this district, in his 84th year. He had been ill for some time and had been receiving treatment at the hospital for about three weeks. Born in Puslinch, he spent the greater part of his life on a farm. Retiring in 1914, he took up residence in Hamilton and some years later, went to Hespeler to make his home. He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. While in Hespeler, he served as fruit pest inspector. Survived by a brother, Peter at San Diego, California. Funeral from the Stager and Co. Funeral Chapel. Mass was celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church by Rev. Father J. F. Ford at 9: 30. Interment Hespeler Cemetery. Pallbearers: William ONeail of Paris; James Drayton, J. McLennan, A. G. Lang, William H. Black and Harold Burnet.
