- MARTIN, Amos W. - Peacefully went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005, at Leisureworld Care Centre, Elmira. Amos W. Martin, in his 95th year, of Elmira.Loving father of Elsie and Ollie Shantz of RR2, Wallenstein, Harvey and Diane Martin of Bradford, Alma and Mervin Martin of RR3, Listowel, Violet and Landis Brubacher of RR2, Elmira, Albert "Bert" and Marilyn Martin of RR2, Wallenstein, Elaine and Glenn Gingrich of RR2, Wallenstein. Also lovingly remembered by his 22 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Dear step-father of Corine Miller, Lydia and Art Stoll, Wilma Miller, Emma Stoll, Jean and Melvin Kemp, John and Karen Wagler, Ben and Leah Wagler, Adrian and Carolyn Wagler. Also survived by a number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Henry Martin, Sidney and Florence Martin and Lizzie Martin and brother-in-law of Jacob Weber.Predeceased by his first wife, Hannah Martin (1978), his second wife Sarah (Stoll) Martin (1998), his parents Sidney and Susannah (Weber) Martin, two brothers Thomas (Elvina) Martin and Israel in infancy, four sisters Annie (Edwin) Martin, Sulinda (Henry) Bowman, Hannah (Urias) Bauman and Susannah Weber, brother-in-law Delton Martin and sister-in-law Viola Martin, one grandchild and three step-sons-in-law.The family will receive friends and relatives at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira on Saturday from 1-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. At 12 noon on Sunday, October 2, 2005 transfer will be made to Countryside Mennonite Fellowship, Hawkesville for funeral service at 2 p.m. followed by interment in the Elmira Mennonite Cemetery.In his memory, donations to Christian Aid Ministries or the Gideon Memorial Bibles would be appreciated by the family as expressions of sympathy.The Martin family are grateful to and thank the staff at Leisureworld Care Centre for their care and kindness shown to Amos and his family.
