      Emiel C. Mlchiels of Main Street, Ayr, passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 18th. He was In his 70th year. Born in Belgium, he came to Canada in 1953, settling in Orillia where he operated an auto body repair shop for a time. In 1984 he and his family moved to Ayr. Mr. Michiels was a member of the Roman Catholic Church; a retired 20 year employee of Babcock-Wilcox in Galt; and a member of the Belgian Army during World War II. Beloved husband of Leona Sprengers; loved father of Anne-Marie and her husband Charles Wood, Frans and his wife Gail, all of Ayr, Renold and his wife Darlene of Cambridge, Joseph and his wife Liz of Ayr, Leo and his wife Sherry of Calgary, Danny and his wife Kim of RR 3, Bright, Emiel of Ottawa and Michelle and her husband Bill Smith of Ayr; dear brother of Alice of Europe, Mariette of Stratford and father-in-law of Frieda of Red Deer, Alta. Also survived by 15 grandchildren. Predeceased by son, Maurice (1987); sister, Josephine and brothers, Frans and Renold. Rested at the Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, Paris where funeral service was held on Saturday. Rev. Father Smye officiated. Interment Ayr Cemetery.
