    • George Klapkew

      PRESTON - George Klapkew, 70, of 522 Eagle St., died Tuesday at the K-W Hospital. He had been ill since Christmas. Born in Galcia, Austria, he came to Preston from there 48 years ago and had lived here since. He retired last July and had been employed with Butler Metal Products, Ltd. He was previously employed at Canada Buffalo Sled and Clare Brothers, Ltd., here. He was a member of St Clement's RC Church and the Holy Name Society. He is survived by his son, Stanley of Oakville, two daughters, Mrs. Dmvtro (Anne) Myeken, Preston, Mrs. John (Mary) Shantz, Ayr, one sister in Poland and four grandchildren. Another son Frank J. Klapkaw, was killed in action with the RCAF in Holland March 9. 1945. The body is at the H. K. Stager Funeral Home. Rev Basil Humeniuk, Kitchener, will conduct mass at St. Clements Church at 9 am Thursday. Interment will be in St. Clement's RC Cemetery here.
