  • Notes
    • ROBINSON, THOMAS MANLEY was born in Drumbo in 1859, a son of W. O. D. Robinson. In 1867 he came to St. Jacobs with his family and was educated there and at Berlin High School. He attended Trinity University, Toronto, and graduated in medicine in 1886.

He started to practice in St. Jacobs with his father in that year. He had; a large obstetrical practice and in the course of his career delivered over 3, 000 babies, including six sets of triplets and fifty sets of twins.

He was active in community affairs and at one time was associated with the St. Jacobs band.

The Daily Telegraph has an item concerning him on November 13, 1914 St. Jacobs News.

The Doc. takes a holiday - its a good many moons since our genial Doctor T. W. Robinson treated himself to a few holidays. Saturday evening he set a tub full of pills on the verandah labelled "Help Yourself, " and left for Brockville and Elgin to enjoy an outing, returning Tuesday night to find everybody still alive and some of the pills left.

By 1942 he had been in practice 56 years, and continued with some degree of practice until his retirement. He died on June 16, 1950 at 90 years of age, being survived by his wife, (his second), and five daughters.
