  REIST, Elgin Of Nithview Home, New Hamburg, was promoted to glory, on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 1983, following a brief illness, Elgin Reist, aged 84 years, formerly of New Dundee. Born in Kossuth and farmed in Blenheim township in the New Dundee area. Beloved father of Lester and his wife Marjorie of Waterloo, Irvin and his wife Marilyn of New Dundee, Armintha and her husband Elroy Belbeck of Owen Sound and Joanne and her husband Reynold Kipfer of Kitchener; brother of Leonard and Mrs. Ella Karcher, both of Kitchener; grandfather of Glen Belbeck of Calgary, Alta., Kevin Belbeck of Collingwood, John Belbeck of Virginia, U.S.A. Brent and Lori Anne Reist of Waterloo, Sharon and Sheila Kipfer of Kitchener, Tanya, Deanne and Jason Reist, all of New Dundee; great-grandfather of Denver and Dallas Belbeck of Calgary. Predeceased by his parents, Gideon Reist and the former Nancy Toman: his wife, the former Hilda Rosenberger; three brothers, Lanson, Luman and Gilbert and one sister, Myrtle. A memorial service was held at Bethel Missionary Church, New Dundee on Friday at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Ted Robbins officiating. Interment Union cemetery. New Dundee.
