  CRESSMAN Velma Grace - Passed away peacefully, on Saturday, December 27th, 2008, at Lisaard House, Cambridge, in her 87th year. Velma was a longtime resident of New Dundee. She was born in Meaford, a daughter of the late Austin and Sylvia (Bingaman) Bauer. Velma was a member of New Dundee United Brethren Church where she had been the church pianist for many years and was a member of the WMF. She was also a member of the New Dundee Women's Institute and enjoyed tending her garden. Velma was a remarkable lady having battled 5 bouts of cancer in the last 45 years. Beloved wife of the late Allan Ezra Cressman who predeceased her January 27, 2004. Loving mother of Donald and Rae Cressman of Sarnia, Laurel and Paul Plato of New Dundee, Terry and Sharon Cressman of Sturgis, Michigan. Dear mother-in-law of Susan Cressman of Kitchener. Lovingly remembered by 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also remembered by sisters-in-law, Marie (Ken) Shantz of New Hamburg and Kay Cressman of Ottawa as well as a number of nieces and nephews. Velma was predeceased by her son, Robert (Bob) Cressman (2001) and her step-mother, Selina (Bowman) Bauer. Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home , 291 Huron St., New Hamburg on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday December, 31st, 2008 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. James Somerville officiating. Spring Interment in Union Cemetery, New Dundee. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to New Dundee United Brethren Church (Haiti Mission) or Lisaard House, Cambridge.
