    • George Clemens, M. D., "was born March 20th 1857. When a young man he commenced the study of medicine and attended the Toronto Trinity College for four full terms and graduated some twelve years ago. After getting his degree he immediately followed his profession in Berlin. About ten years ago he moved to Port Perry where he has a very extensive practice. He is married to Emma, eldest daughter of Levi VanCamp, dentist, of Berlin. Their family consists of two children".

      CLEMENS. GEORGE H. was born on a farm near Preston on March 20, 1857. He attended Galt Collegiate, Victoria College, Cobourg, and Trinity University, Toronto, receiving his medical degree in 1880.

      He commenced practice in Berlin upon graduation, his card in the Berliner Journal read:

      G, H. Clemens M. D. Graduate of Universities of Toronto and Cobourg, licensed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, has his office over the "Journal" and lives in Heller's Hotel, Berlin.
      June 10, 1880.

      He practised in Berlin until December 1882, when he moved to Port Perry. While in Berlin he married the eldest daughter of dentist Levi Van Camp.

      He did well in Port Perry, but in 1897 he left for Parkdale, Toronto, where he became a well known general practitioner. He died on September 23, 1917 of a heart condition, after some twenty years in Parkdale.

      DR. G. H. CLEMENS DIES

      Toronto, Sept. 24.-Dr. George H. Clemens, Parkdale, died suddenly at his home on Sunday morning after returning from an early call on a patient in West Toronto, Arriving home he went to his bedroom, where he was found lying dead on his bed some time later by his son, Louis W. Clemens. Dr. John Hunter was called, but found life was extinct. Death was due to valvular trouble of the heart. Dr. Clemens had suffered on previous occasions with the same trouble, He came to Toronto twenty years ago, and was a well-known general practitioner.

      Death came suddenly to Dr. George H. Clemens of 1392 King street west former president of the Parkdale Bowling Club. Saturday he took part in the McCausland Cup games at the club, playing from 2 o'clock until 10 o'clock. Sunday morning early, he was found dead in bed, shortly after his return from an early morning trip to see a patient. Death was due to heart failure. The late Dr. Clemens was 60 years of age and was very popular with the bowling fraternity.
