    • David W. Groh, "was born May 24th, 1851. He resides in Hespeler where he is engaged as a builder and carpenter. He was first married to Abigail Bechtel with whom he had one child named Abigail. His second wife is Catharine Baumann. Only one child with second wife, named Flora May."

      One of Hespeler's oldest residents, David Groh, 89, died yesterday at Galt General Hospital following an illness of four weeks. Born in Hespeler, he lived his entire life here, with the exception of a few years spent in Preston. Mr. Groh was a member of Hespeler town council from 1911 to 1914 and also in 1929. Before his retirement he was a building contractor by trade. Mr. Groh was a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Twice married, his first wife was the late Abigail Bechtel. His second, Catherine Bowman, predeceased him a number of years ago. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Philip Bender of Middleville, Mich. , and Mrs. Norman Duckworth of Calgary, Alta., six brothers, Christian of near Hespeler, Rev. I. W. Groh of Pennsylvania, Anthony of Hespeler, Jonathan of Gravenhurst, Sylvanus of Toronto, and Ervin of Dawson Creek, Yukon Territory. .
