  • Notes
    • Simon Umbach is reported to have had to go to Illinois in 1882 to settle the affairs of Frederich's death, and brought one of the children home with him.

According to Joseph Umbach. Frederick was the black sheep of the family and loved hunting. fishing and drinking his share. That did not sit well with those who were ministers in the family and Frederick was given the farm at Easton Illinois which was a swamp, to keep him out of the way. The farm was drained in the late 1800's and is now a productive and well managed farm still in the Umbach family.
