    • Last Tuesday death claimed one of the oldest settlers of this neighborhood, when Mr. John Umbach who reached the age of 72 years and who had come with his parents from Germany when he was but 5 years of age, succumbed to a lingering illness which had confined him to the house during the last few months. Deceased spent his youth and manhood in North Woolwich until three years since when he removed to Elmira. He was known and respected as an honorable and honest man. He leaves a widow and two brothers to mourn their loss. The latter are Mr. Jac. L. Umbach of Elmira and Mr. Simon Umbach, Professor at the Napierville Evangelical College. The funeral will take place next Friday afternoon.
