Notes |
- Family lore was that the family came in 1885, and son William came in 1888, when his duty in the army was over. The family left Germany to avoid the draft of Carl.

THE DEATH OF MR. CHRISTOPH WOELLER
There passed away at his home, 15 Mansion street, Berlin, last evening Mr. Christoph Woeller. The cause of death was apoplexy. Mr. Woeller although not in the best of health for the past year, had been able to be around until two weeks ago when he was taken to his bed.

Born in Charlottendorf, Rugen, Germany on November 28th, 1835, he with his wife and family came to America over thirty years, settling in Berlin. He was chiefly engaged in farm and drainage work in this vicinity. He was twice married. His first wife was Friederika Genz, to whom he was married in 1860. His second wife was Miss Mary Graff, who with four children survive him. The children are: Mr. William Woeller, Berlin, Mr. Carl Woeller, Waterloo, Lena Mrs. Fred Haase, Waterloo Township and one daughter in Germany.
The deceased was a faithful and member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church. The funeral will held at 2 o'clock on Monday afternoon at the residence, thence to St. Matthews Church. Interment will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery.
