Notes |
- SNIDER, James H. James H. Snider died at home on the evening of November 7, 2016 surrounded by family. He was well cared for by CCAC Hamilton PSWs and VON nurses, Janice (Lambke), his loving wife of 57 years, and his four children; Judy Mitchell (Lee Stevens), Tim Snider (Joyce Richardson), Jennifer Dmytrus (Steve) and John Snider (Amanda). He is dearly loved by his eleven grandchildren. James Snider was the son of the late J. Stanley Snider and Erma Shantz Snider. Jim lived his faith through his actions. He was passionate about his family, surgery, farming and service to others. A loving father, he has always been supportive and proud of his children, all of whom have benefited from his love, intelligence, kindness and humour. Dr. Snider's professional life at Cambridge Memorial Hospital included stints as Chief of Surgery and Chief of Staff, where he enjoyed many enduring relationships with staff and patients. Service to others included building relationships through Refugee Sponsorships and medical work in Africa and Central America. Jim was a committed member of Wanner Mennonite Church where he served in many capacities, developing friendships with all ages. Jim loved to farm and found great joy in caring for his cattle and working his fields. Always a family affair, farming with him was an opportunity for children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends to learn, grow and work together. He will be greatly missed. Visitation is on Friday, November 11 from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday, November 12 from 1-3 p.m. The Memorial Service will follow at 4: 30 p.m. All events will be held at Wanner Mennonite Church.
