- NEU, Mardi - Mardi passed away on June 16, 2008, at Saint Luke's Place. Dearly loved by her husband, John of 57 years. Survived by sisters, Evelyn Heggie and family, Jeanette Chippindale and family, and many nieces and nephews and in-laws, Susan and George Bradford and family, Margaret Cassidy, Nic and Ana Neu and family, Peter and Patricia Neu and family. Born in Preston she lived all her life in Preston and Galt. She was a gracious and kind lady who was a mentor and role model to her sister Jeanette. Trained in radiology at the Galt Hospital, later working with Dr. L. Pritchett at the medical clinic on Ainslie Street in Galt for a number of years. Then to Cambridge Memorial Hospital in the radiology department with Dr. Bell; then Secretary to Administrators Mr. Dixon, Mr. Gadsby and Mr. Robertson. She retired in 1972. An avid gardener, member of the Cambridge Garden Club for many years; fifty plus years as a member of the Galt Little Theatre; member of the Probus Club; ardent fan of classical music, longtime member of the KW Symphony Orchestra; widely traveled in Canada, the US and Europe. With Jean Klaassen founded the Art Rental Service at the Cambridge Library and Gallery where she was a volunteer member for 28 years. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service for Mardi will take place at St. John's Anglican Church, Queenston Road and Argyle Street at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 29. Arrangements entrusted to Lounsbury Funeral Home . Kitchener Friends Entertain Couple

PRESTON Aug. 21. Miss Mardi Grieve, whose marriage to Mr. John Neu took place at high noon Saturday at Trinity Church, Galt, has been honored by many friends during recent weeks.
Ninety friends from Kitchener district were entertained at Kingsdale in honor of the couple. The hostesses on that occasion were Mrs. John Neu, Mrs. Johri Bauer, Mrs. George Adams, Mrs. Nicholas New, Mrs. William Gross, Mrs. Joseph Bolnig and Mrs. Peter Neu.
Mr. and Mrs. Giles Howard entertained in honor of the couple. Relatives and friends were the guests of Mrs. George Heggie and Mrs. Charles Wilson, Jr., at the former's home in Galt, at a miscellaneous shower for Miss Grieve.
Mrs. A. Kenneth Baird and Miss Jean Clemens held a kitchen accessory shower. Friends from the badminton club were guests of Miss Roberta Eliiot and Miss Helen VanSickle at a miscellaneous shower.
Mr. Neu is the son of Mr: and Mrs. Nicholas Neu, R.R. 2, Preston, and the bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Grieve
