    • Bruder, Doris Lorraine (nee Offen);

      Passed away peacefully, after a brief illness at St. Mary's Hospital on Monday, September 10, 2012, at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Ralph Bruder (2008) of 60 years. Doris was born in Elma Township and is the daughter of the late Ethel and Frank Offen. Doris graduated from Euclid Academy in Cleveland, Ohio as a Cosmetology Manager. She worked in Cleveland for a short period of time, and then moved to Guelph where she met Ralph. Ralph and Doris owned the Melbourne Hotel in Simcoe for 35 years before they retired. Doris was a member of the Simcoe Curling Club and the C.W.L. for fifty years.

      She is survived by a half-sister Sharilyn Lannin of Mitchell and half-brother Eldon Offen of Edmonton, Alberta. She is predeceased by sisters, Veva Kiernan (Bruce), June Scutt (Jack), Orvilla Smith, Alice Marie (infancy), brother Chester Offen (Shirley). Doris and Ralph enjoyed their winters at their condo in Florida and their summers at their cottage at Turkey Point. Together they loved to travel and tour vacation spots in Europe and North America. Aunt Doris was a wonderful cook and loved to entertain family and friends. She will be sadly missed by 33 nieces and nephews, as well as by her many friends and associates.

      Doris' family will receive relatives and friends from 7-9 pm on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 am on Thursday, September 13, 2012 in the funeral home chapel. Reception to follow at the funeral home with interment to follow at St. Boniface RC Cemetery, Maryhill.

      As expressions of sympathy, donations to Anselma House or the Cystic Fibrosis Society of KW would be appreciated (cards available at the funeral home.)
