Notes |
- Daniel Schneider, "was born in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, December 21st, 1797. When a lad of nine years of age his parents moved to Canada and settled at Doon, Ontario, where young Daniel grew to manhood. In 1818 he was married to Nancy (No. 2815), daughter of John and Magdalena (Schrantz) Erb. She was born February 15th, 1794, and died November 15th, 1865. Soon after their marriage he moved about two miles south of Berlin, on the farm lately owned by Ephraim B. Shantz, where he, in 1829, also opened a small store. In 1833 he disposed of this property and moved to the town of Waterloo where he was doing a well paying mercantile business for many years. He died march 14th, 1884, leaving no heirs."
Eby, Ezra E. (1895). A biographical history of Waterloo township and other townships of the county: being a history of the early settlers and their descendants, mostly all of Pennsylvania Dutch origin: as also much other unpublished historical information chiefly of a local character. Berlin [Kitchener, Ont.]: [s.n.].
