- KARN, CHARLES JACOB WESLEY was born in Woodstock, and following his graduation from Trinity University, Toronto in 1888, returned to Woodstock to practice.
In 1889 he was successfully sued for breach of promise by Olga Niemeier, daughter of Dr. Niemeier of Neustadt.
In February, 1896, he purchased the practice of Dr. J. A. Stirling, Picton, and practised there until 1903. He then bought the practice of Dr. G. H. Bowlby, who was leaving to take postgraduate studies.
His card in the News Record on January 21, 1904. Read:

He became associated with Dr. T. L. Towers, the association lasting until November, 1911. Some time in the next two or three years he moved to London, where he practised until his retirement in 1928. He died on February 27, 1933, being survived by his wife and a daughter.

Funeral Rites Wednesday For 70-Year-Old Physician
LONDON, Ont., Feb. 28. Dr. Charles J. W. Karn, retired physician, died at his home, 556 Waterloo street, yesterday, after being in ill health for the past five years. He was 70.
Dr. Karn, who was born in Woodstock, had practised in London for more than 20 years, and had previously resided in Kitchener, Woodstock and Picton. He was a graduate of the University of Toronto.
In his younger days, he was active in district Masonic circles, and was also a member of the Canadian Order of Foresters, the Woodmen of the World and of Metropolitan United Church.
Besides his widow, he leaves one daughter, Mrs. Beverley Wilson, of London; three brothers, T. Arthur, of London, and Harry and John G., of Woodstock; and two sisters, Miss Clara Karn, of London, and Mrs. Harry Story, of Los Angeles.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at the home of his daughter. Mrs. Wilson, 654 Waterloo Street, with interment in the Baptist Cemetery, Woodstock.
