Notes |
- Bricker - On Feb. 26, 1906, at the home of her sister at High River, Alberta, Clara, second daughter of Bro. Elias Bricker; aged 25 Y., 5 M., 23 D. She leaves her parents, five brothers and three sisters to mourn her departure. She was a bright young woman and the picture of health, but was stricken down with pneumonia and after a short illness passed away. Funeral services conducted at the house by Pre. Woods and at the Mount View Mennonite M. H. by Isaac Miller and N. B. Stauffer, from Eccl. 8: 8. Surely, man at his best is but as grass that in the morning flourisheth and ere the evening is cut down and withered.

______________________________
The sad intelligence of the death of Miss Clara Bricker on Monday last of typhoid pneumonia cast a pall over the town and among the people of Norma, where the young lady was well known, the news came as a shock. About a fortnight ago the deceased was stricken with typhoid pneumonia and from the outset the case was considered serious but it was fondly hoped that she would rally. She suffered greatly and on Monday at 1 o'clock her spirit passed beyond the shadows. The deceased was a bright young lady and had a large circle of admiring friends who sincerely mourn the departure of a good friend and companion. A sad circumstance in connection with her untimely and is the fact that arrangements had been made complete for her marriage in June next to Mr. Luther Hicks of this town, who is grief stricken at the loss of his affianced. She was the second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Bricker of Norma, and was in her 26th year. The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon, from the home of Mr. Dewey to Mount Pleasant Cemetery and was followed to the grave by a large concourse of people, who paid the last respects to the dead. The sympathy of the people generally is extended to the bereaved parents and relatives in their sore bereavement
