Believe Aged Man Victim of Train

Badly Battered Body Is Found Beside Tracks Near Breslau

The body of John Boyanosky, 78, a resident of the House of Refuge here, was found shortly after 11 o'clock this morning beside the C.N.R. tracks near Breslau.

From the position of the body and other evidence, it is believed that he was struck by a west-bound train during the night or early this morning.

      Body Badly Crushed

A section gang working out of Kitchener found the body as they travelled toward Breslau station, 15 feet from the westerly end of the trestle over the Grand River. Crushed beyond recognition, identification was not immediately possible.

Mystery surrounds a rubber-tipped yellow cane found standing upright in the gravel a few inches from the edge of the trestle. Gravel had been carefully piled about the base to support it.

      Cap Badly Torn

A faded blue cloth cap, badly torn, lay beside the track 140 feet west of the body, Police found $132 in the dead man's pockets.

When a check was made this morning at the House of Refuge, Boyanosky was missing from his room. He was last seen watching a carnival across the road from the home.

Chief Hilbert Schedewitz of the Waterloo Township Police is in charge of the investigation.
