  Rebecca Clemens, "was born July 21st, 1854. She is married to John A. Markle, a miller by trade. In 1882 they moved to Birtle, Man., where he was engaged as clerk in the Indian agent's office, and in 1886 he received the appointment as Indian agent for Birtle District." Eby, Ezra E. (1895).
