  ALJOE, Hilda Marie - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, April 10, 2009 at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital at the age of 98. Beloved mother of Ruth (Gordon) Howling and Dave (Beverly) Aljoe. Loving grandmother to Linda Laarakkers (friend Tom Fewkes), Barbara Howling, John (Ruth) Howling, Michael (Francine) Howling, Jenniffer Howling, Sean Conway, Cheryl Perry, Jeremy Aljoe and Melissa Aljoe (friend Dan). Cherished great-grandmother to Christina (Glen) Blier, Anthony Laarakkers, Tracey Laarakkers, Caroline (Christopher) Kuiack, Quinn Howling, Kelly Howling, William Howling, Edward Howling, Emily Howling, Stephanie Conway and Trinity Conway. Dear great-great-grandmother to Joshua Blier, Logan Blier, Johnathan Laarakkers and Nathan Laarakkers. Predeceased by her husband, Harry Conrad Aljoe in 1988; her parents, George and Clara Holst; mother, Jenny Holst; and her siblings, Maggie and Carl, in infancy. Hilda was a scout mother for 50 years with the 11th Kitchener Scouts. Family and friends may visit at the Westmount Funeral Chapel , 1001 Ottawa Street South (at Westmount Road), Kitchener on Monday, April 13, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place in the chapel of the funeral home on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Grand River Hospital Foundation, Freeport Health Centre or St. James Lutheran Church in New Dundee would be appreciated by the family and may be arranged by contacting the funeral home at (519) 743-8900.
