- REPTKE, Irene (Dorscht) - Peacefully, at Parkwood Mennonite Home in Waterloo, Irene died on Friday, January 2, 2004, in her 97th year. Predeceased by her husbands, Leo Dorscht and Irvin Reptke, son Warren Dorscht, six brothers, two sisters and parents, Eleanor (Badtke) and Philip Karn. Dear mother of Russell Dorscht, Donald Dorscht and his wife Dorothy of Kitchener and Bruce Dorscht of Del Mar, California. She is lovingly remembered by twelve grandchildren, her great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. Mrs. Reptke was a lifelong member of Historic St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Kitchener. Her gentle manner was appreciated by the children and staff when she worked at the Kitchener Waterloo Rotary Children's Centre. Friends are invited to share their memories of Irene with her family at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, this evening (Saturday) from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service to celebrate her life will be held at Historic St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 137 Queen Street South, Kitchener, on Monday, January 5, 2004, 10 a.m., with Rev. Allan Scharlach officiating. Immediately following the service, friends and relatives are invited to remain at St. Paul's Church for refreshments and a time to visit with the family. Following the reception, a committal service will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery, Kitchener. In memory of Irene, donations to Historic St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Parkwood Mennonite Home or the Alzheimer Society of K-W would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy and can be arranged through the funeral home, phone 745-8445 or www.edwardrgood.com The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Parkwood Mennonite Home for the excellent care Irene received during her 13 years as a resident.
