- Steckle, --- Mary Ann, daughter of the late Isaac and Hannah (Groh) Sitler, was born July 19,1872, in Waterloo Co., Ont.; passed away suddenly as the result of a heart attack, while on a visit to a neighbor, Oct. 16, 1952; aged 80 y. 2 m. 28 d. In February, 1893, she was married to Henry Steckle, who preceded her in death in 1951. Surviving are 3 sons (Ivan, Bayfield, Ont.; Edwin and Alvin, Stanley Township, Ont.), 3 daughters (Susanna-Mrs. Annanias Martin, Waterloo, Ont.; Mary Ann, London, Ont.; and Malinda-Mrs. Earl Gingerich, Zurich, Ont., with whom she resided), 17 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers (Wesley, Elmira, Ont.; and Jerry, Hespeler, Ont.), and 2 sisters (Mrs. Sarah Martin, Drayton, Ont.; and Mrs. Eli Horst, Alma, Ont.). Funeral services were held at the Amish Mennonite Church, Blake, Ont., in charge of Osiah Gingerich and Ephraim Gingerich.
