  • Notes
    • Anna Weber," the only daughter of Henry Weber, and sister to Samuel Weber, was born November 19th, 1824. On October 22nd, 1845, she was married to Joseph ("Schwam Joe Weber"), son of David B. and Mary (Lyons) Weber of Strasburg. He was born August 9th, 1822, and died March 2nd, 1876. After their marriage they lived with her parents for nearly a year. He purchased part of lot No. 64, German Company's Tract, where he had a small clearing made and a log dwelling erected into which they moved in 1846. Here they resided until their deaths. He was deacon of the Mennonite Church for quite a number of years. They had no family of their own but they adopted four children, three of whom they raised. The first one was Susannah, daughter of old Joseph Kinzie. She was married to Joshua Snyder. The second one was Anna Edy, born March 24th, 1854. Her father died on mid-ocean, in February, 1854, and has found a watery grave. Her mother came to Berlin. After being here for a few weeks Anna was born, and when she was two weeks old her mother died. Mrs John Eby of Berlin brought her to Mrs Joseph Weber. She is married to John S. Brubacher. The third child was Jane Elbert who was born April 1st, 1863, and died August 26th, same year. The last one was Catherine Magdalena Murphy. She was a daughter of Thomas and Catherine (Klob) Murphy. She is married to Samuel K. Brubacher. They reside on a farm about two miles north of Conestogo Village."
