- SIMPSON, Philip Howard Peacefully after an ironhorse battle with mesothelioma at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Saturday, May 1, 2010. Philip Simpson of St. George, formerly of Erbsville, is survived and deeply missed by his wife and lifelong dance partner Valerie (nee White), son John Simpson, PhD, daughter Kate, mother Mildred Simpson, sister Glenda Simpson and brothers Craig (Brenda) and Gregory Simpson. Predeceased by his father Howard Simpson (2007). Longtime employee at University of Waterloo and devoted to planes, trains, automobiles and all things mischievous. Cremation has taken place. At Philip's request there will be no visitation or funeral. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Mesothelioma Foundation or the Royal Botanical Gardens, Hamilton.
