  • Notes
    • Charles F. Mueller of Berlin died on Thursday afternoon after he had been infected the evening before by the severest degree of pneumonia. He was born in Duesseldorf, Germany on December 18, 1846 and married Rosalie Blatz in 1875. For a short time, he managed inns in Hamilton, and later Berlin, and then, he took over the kitchen in the college here with his energetic wife, and remained in this position for several years. Recently, he resided in the boarding-house, known as the "Club House". As a cook, he possessed a reputation well-known for his accomplishments in this area. He took part in public life enthusiastically. At various times, he was active in organizations of all kinds and also served six years on city council as a councillor and deputy reeve. The attendance at the burial on Sunday was extremely numerous. The Catholic Church was not able to accommodate all guests. The members on the St. Boniface Society of Berlin, marched all the way to the cemetery and also members of the C.M.B.A. of Berlin, Waterloo, St. Agatha, Baden, New Hamburg, Hespeler and Galt, approximately 200 persons in all, in front of the coffin of their brother.
